Training and Research Laboratory
With more than 20,000 ft2 of laboratory and administration space, VG maintains state-of-the-art tissue processing and medical research facilities in each of our Portland and Boston locations. Our dedicated laboratory spaces boast contemporary clinical and engineering design features common to modern operating rooms. We have more than 330 square ft of ISO Certified processing rooms – equipped with dual view operating microscopes (with high definition video capture) and serves as our center for teaching our innovations in corneal therapies, and for surgeons to refine their techniques and explore new potential breakthroughs in patient care and outcomes.
VG maintains an active laboratory and clinical research program in the fields of eye banking and corneal transplantation. Through close collaborations with our Medical Directors, we strive to identify new and innovative methods to improve both eye bank processes and transplantation practices.
